Chiropractor - Katy Adams BSc MSc Doctor of Chiropractic
(Clinic Director)

I have been in private practice since 2003 having graduated with a Masters of Chiropractic from the University of Surrey, in which I obtained a distinction.

I was introduced to Chiropractic care in my early 20s when working as a clinical research scientist in the pharmaceutical industry and found that lifting hand luggage, packed with clinical data left me with constant low back pain.

The chiropractic care was gentle, and worked quickly and effectively for me. I was so impressed with the treatment that I received; I halted my career path in pharmaceutical research and retrained as a Chiropractor. I have never looked back and receive instant job satisfaction in seeing the majority of my patients, from babies to the elderly, respond well to the individual treatment that Chiropractic care offers.

I am married and have two children and throughout both my pregnancies I received Chiropractic care. I especially enjoy treating families and have a special interest in pediatrics, including the treatment of babies and musculoskeletal care of the pelvic girdle during pregnancy.

In addition I have co-published a paper (2006) looking at foot posture and its possible links to low back pain.

Sports Massage Therapist - Claire-Marie Selwood

I have always enjoyed playing sports and being active so I know how upsetting it can be when an injury or pain stops you from doing what you love.
I enjoy playing hockey, golf and more recently have taken up mountain biking with my husband Andrew.
My interest in sports massage and soft tissue therapy came from my own experiences of recovering from sports injuries. I also suffered a whiplash injury in my early twenties and the treatments I received at the time really made a huge difference to everyday life.
I now have a BETEC Diploma (Level 5) in Sports, Remedial and Clinical Massage from the Oxford School of Sports Massage (OSSM).  I really feel that the skills and knowledge I have gained allow me to genuinely help people experiencing a wide variety of Musculoskeletal problems.

Claire-Marie offers 30 and 60 minute appointment times at the Reading Chiropractic Clinic on Thursday evenings and Saturday mornings
